Beewine Press is looking for:

  • Modern Mythologies: retellings of old myths in a modern setting or adapted in a way that speaks more clearly to current-day circumstances; new tales about old gods; new myths about new gods
  • Teaching Stories and Poetry: techniques, insights, understandings, or religious experiences expressed in creative formats
  • Historically Oriented Mystery Work: attempts to create, reconstruct, or develop mystery traditions and experiences based on ancient historical cultus
  • Explorations of Cultural Polytheisms: historically-oriented works dealing with the particulars of specific cultures, their religions, and ways of exploring and adapting those traditions accurately and with respect
  • Pop Cultural Religion: explorations of spiritual experiences, expressions, and practices rooted in part or in whole in modern fiction
  • Wild Magic: untraditional spellbooks; explorations of magical theory; personal symbologies explored and elaborated
  • Nuances Of Personal Practice: explorations of the development of individual or small-community liturgies and ritual years; discussion of the effects of particular backgrounds or statuses on religious expression; folk traditions; family-based practices; religious cookbooks
  • Pagan Nerdery: analysis, exploration, and generalised geeking out related to any of the above topics; how-tos and ruminations
  • Specific Topic Anthologies: explorations of topics relevant to any of the above, for which the Press will support and publicise calls for submissions
